This college wasstarted in the year 1958 which gradually became the biggest college in thestate .The department of sociology came in to existence in 1984. Started with 40students in its resent stage presently the strength has reached to 450-500students. Amongst all social sciences, sociology is one of themost coveted streams. Since its inception the department has pioneered inproviding quality education and has thus produced scholars,intellectuals and educationists.
