Accredited as B++by NAAC, the college, since its inception, is dedicated to serve the educational aspirations of the students of this region who are mostly from rural and tribal background. Taking steps for women empowerment the Institute also plays an important role in promoting girl education in the region. The college also boasts talented players such as Mrinal Chaubey, who represented at the international level in hockey, and Ajay Mandal, a prominent member of the Chhattisgarh Ranji Trophy team. Other notable names include AmberSingh Bhardwaj, Monica Padhi, and Durgesh Sahu in Karate; Oman Narayan Tamboli in Throw Ball; and Heeru Sahu, who has contributed as an Archery coach.
